Key-less Hotel Room Entry with facial recognition system
- Huis Ten Bosch adopts system for new hotel with cutting-edge technologies -
GLORY LTD. has developed a new key-less hotel room entry system using its facial recognition technology. The system was adopted by Huis Ten Bosch Co., Ltd. (Sasebo, Nagasaki - Hideo Sawada, President) for its latest smart lodging facility called "Henna Hotel" (*1) with a total of 144 rooms (*2).
The system was developed based on GLORY's experience in designing entry and exit control systems for offices and condominiums. Customers of the hotel will use the system for entry into the room as follows:
1. Check-in at the hotel reception using an automatic payment machine
2. Register facial image using a special terminal
3. Glance at the camera set adjacent to the room entrance to unlock and enter the room
(IC card key is also available for those not willing to use the system.)
This new entry and exit system is also scheduled to be installed in other domestic and overseas hotels of Huis Ten Bosch based on the said concept of the "Henna Hotel".
GLORY 's facial recognition system, the industry's highest level of recognition accuracy, judges if the facial image of a person captured by the camera matches that of the same person pre-registered in the system, based on the algorithm analysis utilizing the facial image database obtained from several thousands of men and women of all ages worldwide. Lately, a number of condominiums have adopted the system featuring "walk-through" recognition to authorize entries of pre-registered residents. Adoption of the system has also been expanded to various other locations such as, public offices, security companies, and within the retail & transportation industry.
GLORY will increase its sales of the system by sharing the security & safety benefits to interested parties.

*1 A new type of the hotel with various cutting-edge technologies, which offers the following in ultimate productivity and hospitality never experienced before, based on the concept of "the hotel committed to making continual change": front desk operation by robots, key-less room entry using the facial recognition system, and use of regenerated energy for reducing half of the conventional energy consumption etc.

*2 Out of a total of 144 rooms, 72 rooms will be opened on July 15, 2015, and the remaining 72 rooms in February 2016.
