GLORY LTD. announces the launch of a new foreign banknote checking machine model GCF-200, which is capable of authenticating four kinds of foreign banknotes, including US dollar and Euro for sale in Japan from April 2014.

*a. US Dollar and Euro: Reads serial numbers preprinted in two locations
　　 (Chinese RMB: Only a single serial number is preprinted on the banknote for reading.
　　　Korean Won: Serial numbers are printed on portraits, making it difficult for sensors to correctly read the numbers.)

The number of overseas visitors to Japan has increased in recent years, reaching a total of more than 10 million in 2013, which represents an increase of 24% from the last record in 2012. (The data from "JNTO" the Japan National Tourist Organization) This number of visitors is expected to increase due to the Olympics being held in Tokyo in 2020. Given these circumstances, it is estimated that the demand for detecting counterfeit banknotes will increase along with the increase of foreign currencies brought in by overseas visitors.

The newly developed "GCF-200" is a banknote checking machine designed for foreign currency exchange counters at financial institutions and also for foreign currency exchangers. Details of the features are as follows:

・The sensors read serial numbers and other security information of banknotes received from customers, and identify counterfeit banknotes.

・Authenticates four kinds of banknotes (US Dollar, Euro, Chinese RMB, Korean Won) simultaneously per second, and this speed is four times higher than that of conventional machines, and significantly contributes to reducing the congestion at teller counters.

・Reads serial numbers printed in two different positions of a banknote, and eliminates sophisticated counterfeit banknotes such as the so called composite notes created by pasting multiple banknotes together.

・Shows serial numbers of banknotes both in the display and in printed forms, eliminating the need to manually keep purchasing records of foreign currencies, as well as reducing clerical administration.

・The compact design of 260 mm x 160 mm in dimension allows for installation even in a small space or at the teller counter.
