Newly-developed BK-200 Security Storage System

- Significantly improving the operational efficiency and strictness in financial institutions -

BK-200

GLORY has newly developed the BK-200 security storage system for financial institutions and released it in February 2013. This machine can efficiently and strictly manage valuable items such as cash, passbooks, bonds, securities, keys and seals.

Main features:
  1. Small footprint thanks to its compact design
・The machine can be installed at a place that the operator likes, for example, at the side of an office desk without requiring a big change in the workplace layout.
  2. Can handle wider range of valuable items (cash, bonds, items deposited by customers, cards, etc.)
・Particular units of the system can be combined depending on the customers' purpose. Also, it is possible to set the authority to operate based on the types of valuable items.
  3. Strict management capability of usage history by recording face images and ID card information
  4. Function of connecting with other security products (for keys, cards, seals, etc.)
・Centralized administrative control of registered data, such as operation authority and usage history of each security product.

Financial institutions handle various valuable items in addition to cash. Valuable items which require strict control and security are usually kept in safes or locked cabinets. When it becomes necessary to take out a stored item, a troublesome procedure is required because the person in charge has to enter the vault with his/her supervisor or the supervisor has to unlock the cabinet before the person in charge has to remove or place an item, and keep records thereof. Because of this, the operational efficiency is forced to decrease.

The BK-200 is a variation of the BK-100 security storage system that was developed by GLORY in 2009 as the first of its kind in the industry to store keys and passbooks with usage history. Because a security storage system can replace a safe or a locked cabinet, the frequency to enter the vault can be greatly reduced and the travel distance of operators can be minimized.

However, in the case of the BK-100 that was designed to be placed on the walls needing some space near the wall, many of existing bank branches were reluctant to deploy the model. The BK-200 was compactly designed to eliminate the need for major layout change and provide operators with freedom of installation location. Also, while the BK-200 takes over the functions of the BK-100 , it can handle a wider range of valuable items (cash, bonds, items deposited by customers, cards, etc.). It is possible to combine only particular units of the system to meet customers' purpose, for example to manage only passbooks and bonds. It is also possible to set the authority to operate depending on the types of valuable items. Further, because of strict management capability of usage history by recording face images and ID card information, the operator can use the machine without involving his/her supervisor . Also the function of connecting with other security products (for keys, cards, seals, etc.) provides centralized administrative control of registered data, such as operation authority and usage history of each security product, thus significantly improving the efficiency and strictness.

In addition, by combining this BK-200 with the WAVE open teller system and the BW cash monitoring cabinet, all the cash in a branch can be managed in an integrated fashion.

Because the need for security storage system also exists in various facilities other than financial institutions, it is expected that the BK-200 will contribute to more efficient and stricter operation in wider range of business sectors.
